Paying homage to 10 seasons is no small task, and wrapping up each character and story arc has been extremely important to everyone involved in the show. We’re excited to be able to make the final moments of SMALLVILLE a television event, as the character we’ve grown up with makes his legendary transformation
Executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souder

So impatient to see the finale, but so sad at the same time that it will be the last episode of Smallville.

Smallville Season 10 Spoilers

Al Septien who's Co-Exec Producer of Smallville revealed a few tidbits about the upcoming season 10 of Smallville via twitter:

Do you know what happened to Chloe's father Gabe Sullivan? Why didn't he attend her wedding, & no mention of him?
I do not. Will try to find out.

I just delivered a baby. any chance i can be rewarded with a Clois spoiler?
Lois and Clark will not be having a baby this season.

Do you know what episode Allison will return in?
Premiere.

Can you give us one word to describe Clark in Supergirl?
Struggling.

Do you know if Sam Lane or Lucy Lane will return later on in the season? I really want to see more of Lois's family.
Stay tuned.

Any chance we see Black Canary back for an episode?
Hope so. I met her at CC and she was very nice. And has been great on the show.

Any chance we see Pete Ross guest star this year?
Don't know about Sam yet.

In Supergirl will Clark/Lois go undercover ...can you say it that's hot or cold?
Hmmm.

Do you know if we'll see who took Chloe, or will that be revealed later?
Who said she's taken? Or was that a trick question?

Hey! I was wondering if we were going to get anymore Hawkman this upcoming season?
Yes.

Hey, Al! We have chances of a happy ending for the couple Chlollie?
Too early to tell, sorry.

Will Hawkman and Oliver share any scenes in the second episode?
Don't believe so.

Is the Chloe/Clark scene in the premiere an emotional one or a matter of fact (ie: just business) one?
Bit of both.

Smallville Season 10

What to expect from Season 10 of Smallville? Well, I think the final episode of Season 9 gave us a few details. But first let's check a few screen caps from that final episode!

CLARK KENT'S DESTINY - SUPERMAN

So Clark was dreaming about his destiny (as revealed by Doctor Fate a few episodes earlier):

The Red Blur will definitely become Superman and will be able to fly. Yes! That's Clark flying in the sky:

And his suit is actually a gift from his Earth mother:

Lois is more than ever Superman's first fan (she's still working with Clark at the Daily Planet, but she probably doesn't remember that Clark is actually Superman):

Oh and of course, Superman's arch nemesis, Lex Luthor, is still kicking and alive:

SMALLVILLE SEASON 10: WHAT TO EXPECT?

But I doubt we'll really get to see Clark's destiny. The scriptwriters will rather torment us for one more season through lengthy episodes and from a plot twist to another...

First need someone to save our savior from that blue kryptonite:

And then there seems to be a new enemy, do you remember those red dots "attacking" the Green Arrow:

Well before Chloe lost communication with the Green Arrow, he had time to tell her that the red dots were not Kandorians:

So we'll get to learn about who attacked the Green Arrow and how Clark will be saved in Smallville season 10:

Now time for speculation! Who do you think the red dots could possibly be? Checkmate agents, Lex Luthor's agents or some new unknown enemy?

Smallville Season 10 Fall 2010

Smallville Season 10 ConfirmedGreat news today! The CW Network has officially announced that a 10th season of Smallville has been greenlit! So yes, Clark (Tom Welling) and his friends will be back for new amazing adventures following the end of the current awesome season.

Here's the press release from CW:

“SMALLVILLE” TO RETURN FOR A TENTH SEASON ON THE CW

March 4, 2010 ( Burbank , California ) ─ The CW Network has announced that its hit series “Smallville” will return in the fall of 2010 for a momentous tenth season.

“Smallville,” a modern retelling of the Superman legend, stars Tom Welling as Clark Kent . The series moved to Friday nights this season, where it currently ranks as network television’s #1 show in its time period among men 18-34 and men 18-49. Additionally, “Smallville” has dramatically improved The CW’s ratings performance in its Friday 8:00-9:00p.m.time period by 67% among adults 18-34 (1.5/6), 200% in men 18-34 (1.8/7), 75% in adults 18-49 (1.4/5), 183% in men 18-49 (1.7/6) and 74% in total viewers (3.12million).

“Smallville” joins the five previously announced series – “The Vampire Diaries,” “Gossip Girl,” “90210,” “Supernatural” and “ America ’s Next Top Model” – which will all return for another season on The CW.

“Smallville” was developed for television by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (“Shanghai Noon,” “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”), based on the DC Comics characters. Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson serve as executive producers, along with James Marshall, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola. The series is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions, Millar/Gough Ink and Warner Bros. Television. SUPERMAN was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

Learning about the official renewal of Small for a momentous tenth season made my day! Let's hope that Smallville Season 10 will be as thrilling as the ninth season with the same explosive combination of great plot and mighty characters!

Smallville Season 10 with Tom Welling as Clark Kent

Smallville Season 10 with Tom WellingThe ratings are better than expected for the season 9 of Smallville, so it's no wonder that the execs at CW network are now thinking about Smallville Season 10.

Thanks to Allison Mack we have a confirmation that Tom Welling who plays the role of Clark Kent would be available for a 10th season of Smallville:

"The latest with 'Smallville' is there might be another season after season 9 . Tom has signed for season 9 and for a season 10, so the show will go until season 10 (It Might). I will be completed with my contract next year, and I am looking for new and exciting ways to carry out my character’s exit. I love living in Vancouver, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I love the people, the food, the aesthetic, and the life I have built here. It's wonderful."
Actress Allison Mack

So Tom Welling would keep his role and depending on what's ahead for Chloe, Allison Mack would be glad to come back too. And I guess that Erica Durance (Lois Lane) and Justin Hartley (Green Arrow) would likewise be glad to stay on board for a new season of Smallville.

As a fan of Smallville I'd be damn glad to watch Smallville Season 10. And I hope they will make it as good as Season 9 with lot of action, great new characters and a real depth to the main plot.

But we also have to keep in mind that the actors are getting older. So to my viewpoint, if Smallville Season 10 is greenlit, it has to be the final season of Smallville. I mean the Red Blue Blur has to become Superman by now, and move to Metropolis once and for all! And hopefully, CW would launch the new Series Metropolis when Smallville Season 10 comes to an end, but that's just Smallville fan dreaming, at least for now.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for Smallville Season 10 to happen!
:)
